2-year Bible Reading Journey: I'm learning to listen with faith that nurtures God's friendship with me and helps me to look at the world through His eyes of love and what makes for a the results of a blessed and God-pleasing life.
These truths from Tim Challies' blog point right at my heart which wants to be informed by the Word and the Spirit and which longs to look at the life of Jesus and....after the listening, to believe and then to do.
Christianity is and must be a faith that involves the mind just as it is and must be a faith that involves the heart. The problem comes when there is a radical disconnect between the two.
Davis says it well:We must keep growing in knowledge or we will cease making progress in the Christian life. All of that knowledge begins as head knowledge, concepts understood by the mind, before anything else can occur. And we must have as much of that head knowledge as possible. But woe to us, if through unbelief, we do not allow that knowledge to transform us into the image of Christ and change the way we live our lives. For more along these lines, please point the mouse on this link.
